Our History

Located in Northwest Ohio, Area Financial Services, Inc. has been dedicated to supporting credit unions since 1986. What began as a humble check processing CUSO has evolved into a comprehensive service provider for the modern credit union.

In the 1990’s, we expanded our expertise into data processing, setting the stage for decades of growth and innovation. By 2017, our services had further diversified to include Vendor Management, IT Security, and Back Office Automation, ensuring our clients had the tools they needed to succeed in an ever-changing landscape.

2019 marked a significant milestone with the selection of Corelation Keystone as our core processor for the future, reflecting our commitment to innovative technology. In 2021, we proudly launched the Member Care contact center, offering custom contact center services to support credit union members.

With a rich history and forward-thinking approach, Area Financial Services, Inc. is a trusted partner providing high-quality solutions and unparalleled support.

President/CEO

Michael embarked on a career in the technology industry in 1995. Bringing a wealth of technical expertise, he joined Area Financial Services, Inc. in 2011, initially serving in a technical role. It was here that he developed a deep passion for serving credit unions and Credit Union Service Organizations, recognizing their critical role in empowering communities and fostering financial well-being.

Over the years, Michael demonstrated strong leadership and a relentless commitment to excellence, culminating in his appointment as President/CEO in 2021. Under his visionary guidance, Area Financial Services, Inc. has thrived, with a strong emphasis on customer service and the development of strategic partnerships.

Michael is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and quality support to credit unions ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to succeed in a dynamic financial landscape. His leadership continues to drive Area Financial Services forward, fostering a culture of collaboration, service, and continuous improvement.

When not leading Area Financial Services, Inc., Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.

VP, Client Experience

Michelle has been a key member of Area Financial Services since 2009, beginning her journey as a Client Service Representative. Bringing a strong background in project management and an unwavering commitment to customer service, she quickly became known for her ability to deliver exceptional client experiences.

In her current role as Vice President of Client Experience, Michelle leads initiatives designed to foster collaboration amongst credit unions, including the successful management of our Summit Meeting programs. Her efforts ensure that our credit union partners are not only supported but also empowered to thrive in a rapidly changing landscape.

Michelle is dedicated to enhancing every aspect of the client experience, continually striving to build stronger relationships and deliver innovative solutions.

When not working, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and two grown children.

Vendor Manager

Angela joined Area Financial Services in 2019 as a Client Service Representative, bringing her valuable experience in manufacturing enterprise resource planning. Her keen operational understanding became an asset in serving the needs of credit unions within the CUSO.

In her current role as Vendor Manager, Angela has successfully developed a centralized vendor management program, tailored specifically to the credit unions we serve. Her efforts have been instrumental in strengthening the overall Third-Party Risk Management program, ensuring our credit union partners maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance.

When not working, Angela enjoys spending time outdoors, reading and sharing moments with her friends and family.

Member Success Manager

Rebekah joined Area Financial Services in 2023, bringing with her a wealth of experience from a distinguished career in the healthcare and financial service industries, which began in 1994. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service, she has consistently prioritized the needs of clients and members throughout her professional journey.

As the Member Success Manager, Rebekah is dedicated to ensuring that credit union members receive the highest level of support and care. Her leadership and expertise are key to creating a seamless, efficient and positive experience for all credit union members who interact with the contact center.

When not leading the team at the contact center, she enjoys spending time outdoors, participating in sports, and riding motorcycles.

Donna joined Area Financial Services in 2024, bringing with her extensive experience in coordinating service delivery for managed service technology providers. With a strong focus on client satisfaction, she excels in building cohesive teams and managing helpdesk operations to ensure seamless support for credit union partners.

As Client Services Manager, Donna is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment, ensuring that each credit union receives the highest level of service. Her leadership in team building and commitment to customer success make her a valuable asset to the organization.

When not leading the client services team, Donna enjoys spending time crafting and watching hockey.
